30-sai made Doutei dato Mahoutsukai ni Naeru Rashii, Episode 1. The pink letters above are Kurosawa’s inner voice. He said, “Adachi?”. But internally, he thought, “He’s so close. He’s so cute. I am so fond of you. I am super lucky today and I am so nervous . ” by looking at Adachi.
Adachi and Kurosawa are both endearing characters. Adachi, though overly serious, clumsy, and oblivious at times, is inherently sincere. Despite possessing the power to potentially exploit Kurosawa’s kindness, Adachi’s moral compass leads him to feel uneasy about such actions, showcasing his purity of heart. Seeking guidance from his friend Tsuge, a romance novel writer who also possesses similar magic, Adachi reflects on his feelings towards Kurosawa. Tsuge wisely advises Adachi to contemplate his own feelings first, prompting Adachi to engage in introspection.
Meanwhile, Kurosawa, outwardly a handsome and accomplished colleague, harbors deep insecurities regarding his feelings for Adachi. Yet, his unwavering love and genuine concern for Adachi shine through his inner turmoil.
As the story progresses, Adachi’s initial self-doubt gradually gives way to a growing sense of confidence, thanks to Kurosawa’s unwavering affection. This newfound self-assurance not only impacts his personal life but also boosts his performance at work.
While Adachi and Kurosawa take center stage, the character of Masato Tsuge, Adachi’s friend, contributes to the story’s appeal with his humorous antics. Tsuge’s own experiences with the magic, coupled with his budding romance with Minato, a delivery service staffer, contribute to the story’s richness.
The manga’s journey from its initial Drama CD release to subsequent adaptations, including live-action dramas and an anime series, speaks to its popularity. I also heard that Thai-version of the drama started in December 2023. I watched the entire episodes of the drama and I had a mixed feeling because I found them not following the original story. I haven’t watched anime but I am planning to watch them.
The manga’s journey from its initial Drama CD release to subsequent adaptations, including live-action dramas and an anime series, speaks to its popularity. I’ve also learned that a Thai version of the drama began airing in December 2023. While I watched all episodes of the drama, I had mixed feelings as some parts didn’t closely follow the original storyline from the manga. As for the anime adaptation, although I haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, it’s on my list of things to see.
